 |  | | Carter Sherline | James Sherline | | I come to photography from both a scientific and artistic background. I was trained in chemistry at the University of Michigan and I often call upon my scientific knowledge to serve my photography. After leaving the University of Michigan I began to formally study photography at Washtenaw Community College as well as taking a number of masters classes. These have given me an approach to imaging that is firmly rooted in the mechanics, optics, chemistry and artistry of photography. My interest in recording the world around me and my admittedly different point of view gives my work a unique flavor while still attaining my goal of producing images that reflect more of the subject than of me. | Born into photography James, age 11, currently shoots editorial assignments for Michigan Runner Magazine and Michigan Sports & Fitness Magazine. He also assists with commercial and portrait shoots. He is due to begin shooting these assignments himself soon. |
